Uncanny Avengers – The Man Who Fell to Earth | Comics

The Uncanny Avengers are up for a Standoff in Pleasant Hill! Hank Pym, original Avenger and creator of Ultron returns!

With completely unexpected help from time-travelling mutant superhero Cable, Avengers Unity Division successfully prevented a dystopian "Lost Future" from happening. Afterwards, Commander Steve Rogers led his team into the fiasco of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Pleasant Hill project created by Kobik, a sentient Cosmic Cube taking form of a young girl.

Information about this was eventually leaked on web and Maria Hill claimed the program being shut down with pieces of it destroyed completely. However, Rogers found this not to be true and his Unity Squad team is called for helping in a manhunt. Jericho is summoned by his deceased brother Daniel Drumm to help him return to the world of living.

Cable, Deadpool, Doctor Voodoo, Rogue and Synapse chased down super-villain Wrecker of the Wrecking Crew, who was trying to make a break for it from Pleasant Hill along with Maria Hill. So, now they all fight back group of S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives who came to take them in and then another Maria Hill arrives in a Quinjet starts shooting at them.

Reality around them starts bending and next day they all wake up as different persons living in Pleasant Hill, Connecticut. Rogue is the first one among them to sense it and wake up rest of her team to get out of this reality-warping super-villain prison. She then assembles rest of her teammates from their reality to form a resistance.

After causing genocide to millions of souls among the stars, long-lost team member of The Avengers; Hank Pym finally returns to Earth. Rogue was the one who stumbled onto him first while she was headed towards saving Soyuz Capsule from crushing. Hank's body was merged with Ultron during their previous battle and was lost to all.

Hank believed that he was forgotten but he was actually thought dead by his friends because of what happened to him. Rogers was busy taking down some extremists in wildlife reserve of La Reserva with Deadpool and she took Hank right there.

Hank Pym claims that he has taken control over his creation when rest of their teammates are gathered at Cap's location. Cable asks him to submit his suit for peer review but he reveals that there is not much organic part left, now that he is a singular being with Ultron. Hank flies off to Avengers Mansion and Cap tells Rogue to keep an eye on him.

For acting weirdly out of his character, Cable, Deadpool, Doctor Voodoo, Human Torch, Quicksilver and Synapse were already pretty skeptical about his credentials from beginning though and then he blows up his own memorial claiming it's a lie since he is still alive. He joins active duty with Unity Squad right from that moment.

His ex-wife Janet van Dyne was informed about his return by Steve earlier and during a mission in subway, Wasp casually joined to welcome Hank back, who is overjoyed to see her and she called him away to have a talk with him. However, she saw through him when Hank missed the Ghostbusters reference or wanted to go to Montauk.

When he walks into the theater, Cable starts pushing Hank with some facts that finally made Ultron reveal his true nature. A blast takes down their entire headquarter along with Cable and Human Torch in it. Janet took him down with an EMP burst to slow him down for a moment when Vision enters the scene to confront his father.

Uncanny Avengers – The Man Who Fell To Earth

The third monthly ongoing series of Uncanny Avengers is back with second storyline of their run on 2016, which collects issues #07-12 from the aforementioned series of Marvel Comics. This plotline is written by veteran comic-book writer Gerry Duggan (Arkham Manor, Hawkeye Vs. Deadpool), who is the current series regular narrator.

Artists Pepe Larraz (Fear Itself – The Home Front, New Avengers – Luke Cage) and Ryan Stegman (Scarlet Spider, Wolverine) assisted him with drawing. It is a tie-in to "Avengers – Standoff!" crossover event and served as part of that story. Professor X and Gambit of X-Men made short cameo in between to tease their involvement in future.

Titled "The Man Who Fell To Earth", the storyline features the return of one of the greatest threat to Marvel Universe; Ultron, who is now one with his creator Hank Pym (since the events of Rage of Ultron); a founding Avengers member. Captain Marvel and Iron Man also appeared throughout their clash even though they weren't part of any fight.

Before the series even begin and Steve Rogers could assemble the new heroes, there was a hunt for Nazi super-villain Red Skull, which is also teased for a brief time. The series will later continue with another tie-in to get our heroes involved in another major event; Civil War II and more shocking turn of events will literally shake the core of the team!

Age of Ultron | Comics

age of ultron
Age of Ultron | Comics
Years ago, scientist Henry Pym created the artificial intelligence called Ultron for peacekeeping, that later turned on the humans and developed a rivalry with The Avengers. For years, Ultron is been considered as the most feared opponent by the heroes as he desires the total annihilation of the human race. Ultron have returned and as it was feared, he took over New York, decimated its population and left it in ruins. Except for the Invisible Woman, all of the Fantastic Four are vanquished in an attack by Ultron Sentinels and in a hidden base Captain America, Emma Frost, Iron Man, Luke Cage, She-Hulk, Susan Storm and Wolverine has taken refuge. The Superior Spider-Man is meanwhile rescued by Hawkeye from the minor villains like Owl and Hammerhead.

With a plan to infiltrate Ultron’s base for attack, Luke Cage and She-Hulk volunteered but once inside, they found The Vision instead of his master. She-Hulk bravely sacrificed herself to let Luke Cage escape with this insight, who informed the heroes about the discovery. When all the gathering heroes travel to the future timeline to encounter Ultron for one last time, Wolverine decides to go back in time to kill Dr. Pym to end up this mess at the first place. What he did not knew then is that the Invisible Woman has secretly traveled in time with him, following Logan. But what change Wolverine’s actions will bring upon the existing regular timeline and what chaos will the universe undergo for a bunch of change in the space time continuum remains a question.

Avengers – Next Avengers | Comics

Commander Steve Rogers assembled The Avengers once again when Kang The Conqueror has come crushing the party from the future to seek help!

In a distant future, villainous Immortus falls onto his knees before five shadowy figures and pleading how he was there at their birth and will be present to witness them dying. Once regarded as Master of Time, he is killed by a bolt of lightning.

To assemble all heroes and re-form The Avengers once again after the fall of Norman Osborn and his Dark Avengers following their Siege on Asgard, Captain Steve Rogers rallies together a group of heroes to become a band of heroes the world needs right now. All except Wonder Man does not agree to his idea and thinks of it as a big mistake.

Nevertheless, Commander Steve Rogers went on to recruit his old friend Bucky Barnes and former Winter Soldier as the new Captain America, along with long-time teammate Hawkeye, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Thor and Wolverine for a brand-new team of the Earth's mightiest heroes with former S.H.I.E.L.D. director Maria Hill as its leader.

Other members joining the party includes Beast, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Hulkling, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Justice, Kate Bishop, Luke Cage, Mockingbird, Ms. Marvel, Patriot, Speed, Stature, Tigra, Vision, War Machine, Wasp and Wiccan with some representing other superhero teams like New Avengers, X-Men and Young Avengers respectively.

Suddenly, Kang the Conqueror arrives from future to alert them of a threat but before he even finishes announcing his arrival, Odinson quickly blasts him off the tower. To make them listen to him, Kang shows them a doomsday device that Tony Stark will build in near future that is capable of mass destruction and everyone stops immediately.

Then he explains, in a future timeline, where Ultron has ruled all by destroying all heroes and establishing his own utopia, only for the children of the Avengers to rise up to its tyrannical rule and then took over his empire but without any guidance, these gifted youngsters have ushered such ruthlessness that needs to be stopped before it's too late.

Trying to stop Ultron before the children could do so with different allies and weapons, only to fail many times over; Kang came seeking help from The Avengers but knowing they probably wouldn't trust him, leaves them to find their own way to future and told them that they would know how to look into future when their team is complete.

Wolverine suggests that he know someone who can help them with unique expertise of dimensional travel. So, they all pay a visit to Noh-Varr AKA Protector who was busy tussling with Titanium Man. Tony asks him to build a time machine so that they can go to future and stop their future offspring from being oppressing jerks.

In Avengers Tower, Noh-Varr finishes making the device and it starts projecting visions of possible futures, they see Immortus being executed by their children, the Next Avengers. Before that timestream collapses, they see an elderly Hulk, who calls himself Maestro and as they prepare to travel to future, Wonder Man comes crushing.

While his old friends are in awe seeing him getting jumpy, he explains how the superhero Civil War, Secret Invasion of the Skrulls and Osborn's Dark Reign were all the result of their own reckless actions over the years, which is why they should disband themselves for the collective good of everyone before getting blasted off by Marvel Boy.

Tony asks Noh to rebuild his machine and then a future version of Apocalypse appears through timestream with his four horsemen. Chaos breaks in all of a sudden but the crowd shortly realizes that the Eternal Mutant is here because time is broken. Iron Man tries to talk to En Sabah Nur but he and his Horsemen are then pulled to elsewhere.

Maria Hill suggests Captain America, Iron Man, Marvel Boy and Wolverine head to their apocalyptic future. She then sends Hawkeye, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman and Thor to New York City to cross paths with Killraven and Devil Dinosaur. Followed by an invasion of Martians, even the mighty cosmic devourer Galactus makes a surprise appearance.

Two of the greatest comics talent of the comic-book industry, writer Brian Michael Bendis (Age of Ultron, Avengers Disassembled) and artist John Romita Jr. (Avengers Vs. X-Men, World War Hulk) teamed up in 2010 for Marvel Comics to revamp one of the greatest superhero team in comics, The Avengers with a brand-new ongoing series.

Even though the first issue of the story rallied up a huge roster of superheroes together, a smaller group of them actually got involved into plot. Many of the assembled members from New Avengers, X-Men and Young Avengers team would not even appear to rest of the book but most probably reserved for near future appearances.

Menace From Beyond Time

"Next Avengers" takes place on the fourth monthly ongoing volume Avengers comic series, collecting issues #01-06. Bendis sets up a premise on future crisis where Kang the Conqueror is troubled with next generation of young heroes and Ultron has finally succeeded in destroying all life-forms by crushing every resistance on his maniacal way.

It eventually paved the way for a new Heroic Age in Marvel Universe and would be continued with a new arc titled "Infinity Quest" up next where the team will tackle a threat greater than what they have already dealt with in a future ruined by their children and a conflict of interest among its members regarding long-kept dark secrets.

Mighty Avengers – The Ultron Initiative | Comics

Iron Man assembles Mighty Avengers, a team of A-list members of Avengers and Ultron returns for ultimate revenge.

By the end of superhero "Civil War", Tony Stark became new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and he asks Carol Danvers to lead a new team of Mighty Avengers. Danvers suggest for an all-powerhouse team with everyone level nine or higher but Tony wants to have some team dynamics within the mix by adding a few members who are street-savvy.

They start with Wonder Man and Wasp from original Avengers team before moving to Sentry, which Carol is very skeptical about. Given his time with New Avengers, Tony realizes that they need a ninja, someone like Maya Lopez but since she is a fugitive on run right now, they go for Natasha Romanoff AKA Black Widow instead.

When it comes to choosing substitute for a Thor and Wolverine, Carol took him to Ares, God of War and though he didn't initially wanted to comply, Iron Man managed to strike a deal with him. In between their recruitment, Tony has been receiving and responding to many emergency reports from around the globe about natural calamities.

Immediately after their formation, Tony and his allies get busy to deal with a situation in Manhattan where a group of monstrous creatures show up and causing mayhem. While fighting, Simon Williams pointed out that Mole Man could be behind this and he is proven right when Harvey Elder comes out threatening them.

All of a sudden, Iron Man's armor starts warping and after blasting everyone off nearby with a repulsor charge, a female figure appears in that place. When it is confirmed that she was the one responsible for their home being destroyed, Mole Man sends his entire army after her only to be repelled and being completely molten into goo.

Despite Ms. Marvel not wanting to engage, an attempt to attack her by Ares and Sentry has led them both struck with lighting but the latter still pursues to have his axe broken and zapped even harder. Though no one had the slightest idea who that silver-skinned woman was, Janet van Dyne confronted her to confirm it to be Ultron.

Thinking Tony is still trapped within its shell and not dead yet, Carol orders her team to retreat as they can't even go near it and decides to come up with a better plan of attack. Leaving Sentry behind to deal with Ultron, she leads her crew to S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier looking for Henry Pym, who created the menacing murder bot years ago.

Hank was busy spending time with Tigra and ignoring calls but then S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were sent in to fetch him. To gain an upper hand in fight, Ultron took over the Helicarrier and send it crushing down. Sentry eventually saved it from falling with help from his fellow Avengers and Natasha takes charge when Maria Hill is knocked out.

To make their worst nightmare come true, a drone similar to original Iron Man armor called Starktech 9 flies in to inform that Tony Stark is dead, which is confirmed by Hank as he helped Tony create it as a fail-safe program for crisis like this.

Upon explaining how Ultron is manipulating weather using a group of satellites, Bob and Simon totally trashed them off. She then announces to initiate "Plan B", which is to cause a complete blackout throughout New York by releasing an electromagnetic pulse and then breaking into Stark Tower to get to Lindy Reynolds, wife of Sentry.

Running parallel to New Avengers comic-book series, writer Brian Michael Bendis (House of M, Secret War) and artist Frank Cho (Marvel Knights Spider-Man – Venomous, Savage Wolverine – Kill Island) was roped in by Marvel Comics to work on Mighty Avengers team comprised of registered superheroes, as part of Fifty State Initiative.

"The Ultron Initiative" marks the first storyline in a brand-new monthly ongoing publication started in 2007 and collects first six issues from first volume of release. After gathering some A-list Avengers members, Bendis made things more interesting by tossing in one of their biggest threat ever, who returned to end all life on Earth.

In post-Civil War period, Iron Man is Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. now and he puts Ms. Marvel in charge of his new team. Although their first mission starts with facing Mole Man and his army of Moloids, soon they are confronted by a literal ghost from past in form of Ultron and none of them has expected him to make a comeback like this.

Among all of Tony's fellow heroes, Ares comes out as most unusual addition to Mighty Avengers but proved to be very resourceful when it comes to make strategic plans. Reassembling for their next adventure in "Venom Bomb", Stark and his team will slowly be heading towards the culmination of a major "Secret Invasion".
