Super Sons – Parent Trap | Comics

Robin’s past finally revealed to Superboy in a meeting with Talia al Ghul, before Kid Amazo returns to tear the Super Sons apart.

When his dad Superman leaves for a Justice League-level emergency and reporter mom Lois Lane goes Metropolis to investigate on an article for Daily Planet, young superhero Jon Kent is left behind with Damian Wayne, who lands on the school ground of West-Reeve by their trusted family butler Alfred Pennyworth.

Unbeknownst to Damian, his mother Talia al Ghul was secretly keeping an eye on him from nearby and meets him during lunch period only to freak out his friend Superboy by holding her own son with a sword on his throat. She asks him to come with her but Robin declines her offer after freeing himself.

The Super Sons heads to Gotham City and encounters members from League of Assassins before finding out that Talia was hired to kill Lois. Jon and Damian then start scouring through the city to find their mothers to stop one from killing the other.

The shot fired by Talia from a rooftop was timely deflected by Jon while Robin confronts his mother about this contract she took and engages her. Jon would come across Lois on street after taking down a few of the ninjas and Damian would force his mother to leave town after besting her in combat.

Two researchers working at LexCorp walks into a room for checking on inventory before Lex Luthor arrives only to discover that the synthetic suit made of Amazo Virus is missing from containment and as the Super Sons were planning for their patrolling schedule for the night on Fortress of Attitude, Kid Amazo suddenly breaks in.

Sending Robin to look for rebreathers, Superboy tackles their former enemy until the villain is hit by an escape pod of theirs. Together, they made an attempt to reach out to surface for seeking help but Jon is grabbed by the leg at the last minute and pulled underwater.

Before Damian could ran out of air, Cyborg came out of nowhere at his rescue and band together looking for Kid Amazo instead of taking him back home. An unconscious Jon is dragged by the suit to an oil rig and discloses how it escaped using Reggie Meyer.

Since the boy was in a weakened condition when bonded, there are high chances of him being dead right now, because his powers were burned out and now it needs an external energy source to feed on. To absorb organic power from new source, he has acquired Batman, Flash, Superman and Wonder Woman.

After draining the entire League, the suit wanted Jon as a host who could survive and filter it to power the armor. Though resistant, he couldn't free his father and friends or even last too long before help could arrive but when it did, he immediately freed himself from captivity.

Since the suit has tapped into the power of Flash, it started to give even Cyborg a hard time. With no chance to seemingly win against the villain, Robin eventually came up with a plan which involves Victor Stone losing to Kid Amazo as a part of gamble he planned.

The killer queen who used to run League of Assassins, Talia al Ghul pays a surprise visit to her son Damian with a contract to kill Lois Lane. However, the ongoing Leviathan civil war is what brought her here even though her intentions were never clarified at any point of the encounter (The Silencer – Code of Honor).

Then former Amazo Project came back to life next, looking for revenge by taking down the biggest players of world's greatest superhero team. Except for Aquaman and Green Lantern, almost every core-member of the Justice League showed up in the story, not to save the day but to be saved instead.

Batman – The Rules of Engagement | Comics

Following his marriage proposal to Catwoman, Batman leaves Gotham City on a quest of renewal and redemption.

When Batman proposed to Catwoman on a rooftop after being inspired to be happy in life by his father from an alternate timeline, they decided to come clean to each other about their past. She explains how she ended up at Arkham Asylum for accusation of murdering 237 men of a terrorist group.

It was her close friend Holly Robinson who actually committed the crime and Selina took the fall for her knowing she will eventually be saved by The Dark Knight when she will be sent to a death row for this mass murder.

So, they decided to travel to Khadym for a fifteen hour long journey though an unforgiving desert seeking redemption. They loses one of their horses and Batman comes to a former partner of Dick Grayson from his time as an agent of Spyral who goes by the name Tiger King of Kandahar for his help to reach his destination.

Since political interference and involvement of super-heroes are not welcomed there, he had to find a guy with enough intel to make an entrance to Khadym and Tiger reluctantly agrees to help them.

Back in Wayne Manor, Alfred Pennyworth finally discloses regarding this illegal mission of his and about Bruce recently proposing to Ms. Kyle to his surrogate family of young vigilantes, which struck them all in awe.

While Duke Thomas and Jason Todd starts blaming each other for not being able to stop him from marrying her, Damian Wayne accepts this to be his fault and Dick Grayson tries to comfort him. Superman makes a call to Alfred informing of an unauthorized invasion in Khadym and Justice League is on their way.

Upon arriving at their desired end, Tiger is stopped by the Guard in the Desert, who turns away heroes and villains from entering. He refuses to allow entry for Batman and Catwoman decides to confront the Guard, which didn't end quite well for him.

As the three of them enters, Talia al Ghul is informed of their arrival, to which she asks to prepare her swords. They are surrounded by her men whom are ordered to tire them to exhaustion, something that the duo realized fighting the Silent Soldiers of the Pit for a while.

The Demon's daughter then comes swinging her swords at her ex as he tries to reason with her about their visit. All they want is to talk to Holly Robinson and then leave but knowing Selina Kyle is going to be his wife soon, Talia stabs him in jealousy.

Catwoman then picks up a sword to fight the former lover of her betrothed to a standstill unless one of them falls. When their ledger on Khadym is finally closed and done about, the Bat and Cat are about to go on a rare double date with Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

Super Sons | Comics

Superboy and Robin, sons of Superman and Batman form a reluctant super-team to follow in their fathers’ footsteps.

Being the son of Batman and Talia al Ghul, Damian Wayne grew up to be a crime-fighter and served as the fifth Robin. Although his grandfather and one of his greatest enemies of his father, Ra's al Ghul intended for him to be world’s deadliest assassin, the boy eventually chose to become a hero just like his father and constantly struggles to stay on path despite his extremely arrogant nature.

Jonathan Kent on the other hand was born of World's greatest superhero, Superman and ace reporter Lois Lane at the time of "Convergence" and their family arrived at Prime Earth shortly before "The Final Days of Superman" of this world.

Being a Human/Kryptonian hybrid, Jon became a target for the entity known as Eradicator, who simply wanted to wipe out his "Human" half. He then fought back at him with superpowers inherited from his father. As sons of World's Finest superheroes; Batman and Superman, both Damian and Jon have a lot to live up to.

With completely opposite personalities of these two youngsters that very less often matches, it seems very unlikely for them to accomplish anything at all but they still manage to get their differences aside and accomplish great wonders.

Trials of the Super Sons
Believing Superboy to be a threat to humanity because of lack of control over his immense power inherited from his super-powered father, Robin deems him as a threat and sends assassin Maya Ducard aka Nobody to pick Jon up from school. She approaches Jon as a civilian before her cover is finally blown.

She still took the boy bearing a lot of trouble with some help from Damian's pet dragon bat Goliath. When Jon finally woke up in the Batcave, Batman came to release him followed by the Man of Steel. Before they could start a fight over him, Jon explained what really happened to stop both parties.

Leaving their fathers discussing Jon's power, Robin took Superboy to show his pets and his never-ending remarks towards the latter about accidentally incinerating his cat. This made Jon lose his temper and he got into a fight with Damian over this almost immediately by landing a punch to his gut.

When Alfred Pennyworth came to stop the boys, Robin ducked and Superboy accidentally froze the butler with his newly developed arctic breath. Because of their constant reckless behavior, both Damian and Jon are sent to Batman's boot camp.

The whole idea behind this boot camp was to discipline them and the plan was to make them go through a series of obstacles to teach them just that. However, the boys did get out of those challenges individually but not as a team, which disappoints The Dark Knight.

Upon finding their gear, Robin declares this is a game as Nobody sneak attacks on them from behind. After getting past Maya, Damian is faced by Goliath on a train while Jon rushes to his aid. Finally, the boys managed to work together and work things out seeing their fathers in trouble; not knowing of it was a ruse.

Kid Amazo
To recruit Superboy for an investigation he's been working on for some time, Damian shows up at Jon's school in the guise of bus driver and stuck around some more as his substitute teacher. That night, these two goes out looking for clues at Lexcorp but the sudden arrival of Lex Luthor complicates things for them.

By dropping Superboy off for Lex to catch as he cannot fly, Robin manages to identify one Reggie Meyer from copied security footage in the mean time, one of the very few who still retains his powers and was exposed to Amazo Virus.

With frequent use of his power, Reggie goes totally nuts and starts calling himself Kid Amazo. He even steals the Amazo Armor from Lexcorp and keeps replicating himself with a plan to take down the Justice League. Damian and Jon find his technopath sister Sara who confirms of her brother's irrational actions.

However, they were attacked by synthezoid versions of their fathers followed by dozens of doppelganger of themselves during her rescue. The Super Sons are overwhelmed by the duplicates and got captured but in the end, are both saved by Damian's back-up plans before being grounded by Alfred and Lois back at home.

Black Dawn
Batman and Robin paid a surprise visit to Kent Farm one night to inform Clark of their analysis on Superboy's DNA, which suggest that he should be at his peak as his molecular transformation is completed. The Dark Knight then visits the neighboring Cobb Family Dairy Farm to get a sample of their cow's milk but never returns back.

Robin, Superboy and Superman go looking for him next morning to no avail. When big blue goes away to continue his search, Damian is subdued with psychic powers by Jon's neighbor, Kathy Branden before she took Jon with her.

Turns out, an arch-nemesis of his father, Manchester Black has returned in town and he's been keeping Jon from accessing his full power. Kathy and her grandfather were survivors from an alien race that Black recruited earlier to do his bidding. Batman, Frankenstein, Frankenstein's Bride, Robin and many others were captured by them.

After emotionally manipulated by certain events Jon is controlled by the powerful telepath to fight his father using all of his powers. With a little help from his friend Kathy, Jon successfully defeated Black with the cost of his powers in a psychic feedback.

One of the best things happened following the post-DC Rebirth event is the brand-new team up of the Super Sons; Robin and Superboy, which has become official. Damian Wayne has been operating as Robin for quite some time even before Jonathan Kent and his parents came to Prime Earth of DC Universe.

On the other hand, the concept of Jonathan Kent was conceived by Dan Jurgens (Metamorpho – Year One, Superman/Doomsday – Hunter/Prey) and artist Lee Weeks (Hulk Smash Avengers, Superman – Lois & Clark) during "Convergence".

The World’s Smallest

Not only have these two boys had a lot to achieve yet, from the very beginning of DC Rebirth, writers has been suggesting that the new Superboy is going to become stronger than his father. When that happens, we are pretty sure that there will be consequences and a lot of potential for some great stories.

Jon also showing promises to be worthy of the title of Superboy, since Kon-El is not out there to claim the name. Besides, it is always fun to see the boys constantly bantering with each other and how their super-dads wonder if they will ever get along.

Bane | Comics

A tactical genius with extensive combat expertise and sheer brute force at his disposal as a result of a super-steroid called Venom; Bane is one of the most formidable foes who Batman has ever came across in his crime-fighting career. Grown into harsh surroundings of Peña Duro prison in Santa Prisca, he was a being born and molded by darkness that feared nothing.

He was subjected to an experimental drug known as Venom and not only did he survived, he became insanely strong. Bane is a unique combination of brains with brawns, which makes him deadlier than most of The Dark Knight's other enemies.

Vengeance of Bane
Most of his early years from childhood were spent within the walls of Peña Duro prison of Santa Prisca. He was serving prison time off his father's life sentence along with his mother until the day she died. Young Bane witnessed his mother being thrown off to shark-infested waters around that prison as her funeral by prison guards.

The boy started developing both mentally and physically by reading a lot of books and working out at gym. He committed his first murder at the age of eight and gained respect from his fellow inmates very soon.

Growing up, he earned loyal companionship of Bird, Trogg and a physician named Zombie, who recognized potential of his strength and intelligence. He grew quite a reputation around Peña Duro that even their warden became concerned and placed him put him in solitary confinement for a decade.

Yet he didn't break and then a scientific research team took him as their test subject to run experiments on him. Though no has survived the process before, Bane came out alive and stronger with an addictive super-steroid Venom in his system.

Broken Bat
With a desire to conquer Gotham City and destroy its protector Batman, he escaped Peña Duro with several of his friends. He heard stories about The Dark Knight and how Gotham was ruled by his fear among criminals. He engaged in a brawl with menacing villain Killer Croc and defeated him to test his strength.

His duel with Croc left the latter with two broken arms. Then to test his opponent, he doused The Riddler with Venom and turning him into a hulking version of himself to become both physical and mental challenge for Batman.

In his attempt to keep his target occupied, he then released the maniacs like Joker, Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, Ventriloquist, Firefly, Two-Face and Zsasz from Arkham Asylum, which took Batman months to round up.

When he found Robin trying to follow him, he captured the boy wonder but a surprising intervention from Killer Croc seeking vengeance on Bane saved him. Finally he got into Wayne Manor after figuring out his secret identity and literally broke Batman's back to usher Knightfall by leaving him paraplegic.

Knightquest
Right after he took down The Dark Knight, Bane took care of major gangs in Gotham and even offered Catwoman to join, which she refused. Soon, he realized that there was another Batman in town and sends his men to check out who that is.

In Bruce Wayne's absence, Jean-Paul Valley has taken the mantle and found Bane but their fight was interrupted. Pumping venom into his system, he confronted Jean-Paul who came wearing an armored Batsuit. They struggled with each other for some time, only for the former to be defeated and getting captured before being taken away to Blackgate Penitentiary.

Legacy
For several months, he remained catatonic in Blackgate until the night Bruce Wayne finally recovered and returned as Batman. He recovered his addiction to Venom, served his time and then left Gotham looking for his father. According to a lead from the priest of Peña Duro, Bane went Rome searching but met with Talia al Ghul instead, who introduced him to her father Ra's al Ghul.

The international eco-terrorist was so impressed with his talents that he even chose to make him as his heir. They launched an outbreak of Apocalypse Virus on Gotham and he had a rematch with Batman, who came out victorious this time.

Infinite Crisis
Years after, Bane returned to Santa Prisca to find out a new variation of Venom is now being distributed to public. After destroying everyone and everything related to the drug, he came to know that its formula was taken from a strength enhancing pill called Miraclo, created by chemist Rex Tyler who was the original Hourman and a member of both Justice Society of America and All-Star Squadron. When the battle of Metropolis broke in, he was there with other villains and killed Judomaster by breaking his back with his signature move.

One Year Later
When the crisis on Earth was finally over, he came looking for Rex Tyler for his involvement in creation of Miraclo, which then led to the making of Venom. As he broke in and starts manhandling Rex, his son Rick Tyler arrives to the scene after seeing Bane coming after his father in time vision.

He claimed that he was forcibly hooked on with Venom once again by Santa Prisca mob and is sent after Rex Tyler's formula. When he was completely assured of having no documents of that formula exists anywhere, he making on the father-son duo.

Breaking his way into the fictional world of DC Universe in 1993, Bane was created by writer Chuck Dixon (Batgirl – Year One, Birds of Prey) and Doug Moench (Batman & Dracula – Red Rain, Batman Vs. Predator II – Bloodmatch) with artist Graham Nolan (The Joker – Devil's Advocate, The Phantom).

Though much of his back-story remains unclear to audience and his foes, he became a very prominent character after he literally "Broke the Bat" in his debut story-arc Knightfall and this infamous act is depicted in various other medias like Batman – Arkham series of video games and several other animated TV Shows over years. This has become a signature-move for him and he actually repeated this act with few other characters as well.

Even in the live-action Batman film The Dark Knight Rises (2012), actor Tom Hardy played Bane's character and staged this infamous act on screen. After that, mainstream media became aware of his ruthlessness and soon this character has been stepping out of comic-book pages too often than he used to.

When "Flashpoint" crossover event has introduced The New 52 timeline, Bane also re-emerged with a brand-new origin story that is quite similar to the post-crisis era but also picked up many other characters to develop more depth in his role. It delved deeper into his past after DC Rebirth shook things up for Prime Earth and a darker back-story was unfolded.
