All-New, All-Different Avengers – Family Business | Comics

A "Standoff" at Pleasant Hill between All-New, All-Different Avengers and Uncanny Avengers takes place before a trip to a prison planet!

The Mighty Thor has joined a new assembly of The Avengers earlier while trying to foil a plot by Kang the Conqueror and was separated from Mjolnir shortly, which revert her back to Jane Foster. None of her teammates knew of her identity but now it has been revealed to Sam Wilson, All-New Captain America but he kept it a secret.

He even came to visit her during one of her chemotherapy sessions before heading back to an emergency. Vision tries to make peace with Ms. Marvel and sneaks into her school to talk about their past differences. Iron Man and Thor then heads to apprehend a villain named Night Phantom who was busy fighting Spider-Man, Miles Morales.

Before he is taken down, he asks about "Pleasant Hill" and when Maria Hill of S.H.I.E.L.D. arrives to take over, she completely tries to ignore it until Cap gives them more bad news coming from there. They ride into a Quinjet to reach Connecticut and Hill starts firing at members of Avengers Unity Division upon seeing them with another "Maria Hill".

Cable sends Quicksilver and Rogue to tackle them for this uncalled attack on them that ended up crushing the Quinjet. Still in confusion, both team starts fighting each other as a wall closes in on them that turns out to be a snowdome. Tony and his friends later regain sense in a world where they were not aware of their truer selves at all.

Soon, inhabitants of Pleasant Hill started to gain their memory and assembled together but the villains also broke free of captivity to attack them. Deadpool decided to reach out to Kobik, a Cosmic Cube fragment that took the form of a human child, who can rewrite reality and made her restore everyone back to how they were before.

Now residing and operating from an abandoned hangar, Avengers seem to come under attack and then revealed to be The Wasp who is not Janet Van Dyne at all. She turns out to be Nadia Pym, estranged daughter of Hank Pym who was raised in Red Room and was studying Pym Particles, which helped her make a break out of there.

She initially went to see her father who deceased earlier in an attempt to stop Ultron and came to meet her father's allies. Though Edwin Jarvis was dismissive about her, he took her to meet her stepmother Jan after she helped Vision from exploding and blowing up everyone by going superthermal as an after-effects of his encounter with Kang.

Nova informs the team about going after his father who he has been looking for ever since he joined the Corps and Tony offers their aid. Together they journeyed through space in an old overdrive unit that is powered by Thor's hammer and guided by Nova's helmet only to arrive at a barren planet that is littered with other wrecked ships.

On arrival, their ship is shot down from a lighthouse-esque tower but they managed to successfully land in time among a crowd of alien refugees. Iron Man and Lady Thor go to investigate the tower when an energy cloud appears out of nowhere to grab any life-form it come across and The Avengers just jumped into it.

Finding herself shacked on the other side; Ms. Marvel tries to break free despite warnings from Nova and Spider-Man only to be crushed down by Annihilus, Lord of the Negative Zone! Vision fared no better under an anti-matter sun of the galactic prison planet with only Goddess of Thunder keeping him from unleashing a Techtronicon cannon.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Emperor Quill | Comics

As Fantastic Four is currently no longer in business, The Thing has nothing better to do and he decided to become a spaceman. So, Benjamin J. Grimm has joined Guardians of the Galaxy alongside Drax the Destroyer, Star-Lord/Kitty Pryde, Flash Thompson's Venom and Groot, led by their brand-new leader Rocket Raccoon. Though, Ben lovies his time in space, he finds the downside of it being always being threatended by a Chitauri Leviathan that is after him and thanks to Kitty Pryde, they took out a entire Chitauri fleet with very little effort and secured a package from them.

Since no one knows what's inside of it and they have no expert on-board to examine it and cannot come to any conclusion whether it's a weapon or a cosmic artifact, The Guardians took a vote and went to see an old friend. On Spartax, Emperor Peter Quill is dying of boredom while ruling the planet and suddenly out of the blue, Rocket and The Guardians arrives at his doorstep with the package acquired from Chitauri.

On Spartax, Emperor Peter Quill was dying of boredom while ruling the planet alongside Spartax Council as their new king, attending meetings to discuss military expenditures and trade negotiations that are driving him nuts. Peter was trying to resist sexual advancement from an alien being and suddenly out of the blue, Rocket arrives with the rest of Guardians of the Galaxy at his doorstep with the package acquired from Chitauri. Only moments after their arrival, a shiny object falls from the orbit and hits straight to the surface, which is revealed to be a badly-beaten and bloodied Gamora.

She tries to warn her friends about her attacker and it seems that Gamora encountered a Kree, belonging to Accuser Corps, named Hala who has beaten her like this. She fled from the Kree using all her strength to come to Spartax, so she could warn Quill and the Guardians. Hala is the last remaining Accuser, who seeks out retribution for the destruction of Kree Homeworld and her people at the hands of Quill's father and former King J'son while she was away. Now, as the sole survivor of her race, she came to Spartax to kill Emperor Peter Quill.

They all attacked the Kree Accuser one by one but none of them could make an impact except for Ben Grimm landing a few punches on her. Then an attempt from Spartoi Royal Guards to restrain Hala also proved to be as futile. Even the combined might of the Guardians seems not enough to even slow her down a bit and they are all forced to leave while Gamora engages her in duel again. As the rogue Accuser tears apart the heroes and wrecks havoc on Spartax, a doozy alien named Yotat the Destroyer seeks for Drax to settle down some old score.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Emperor Quill (Hardcover)

Set up after Marvel's ground-breaking events of "Time Runs Out" and "Secret Wars", Guardians of the Galaxy is taking a new move with "Emperor Quill" storyline which is devised by writer Brian Michael Bendis (Daredevil – End of Days, Daredevil – Ninja) and illustrated by artist Valerio Schiti (Guardians of the Galaxy – Wanted, New Avengers – A Perfect World), as Arthur Adams (Gen¹³/Generation X, Longshot) provided cover arts. "Emperor Quill" does very well connecting the current plot to the previous happenings of the Marvel Universe; like "The Black Vortex" and subtly plants seeds for more in the foreseeable future with more stakes on the line.

New members Ben Grimm and Flash Thompson are added to the roster to add some new twist to the play and bringing diverse flavor among the space-heroes. This puts Rocket straight on the driving seat of the gang whilst Quill plays the fancy boy-king of Spartax. During Quill's presence, Rocket always argued with him how his plans are better and now with the former out for the time being, he can finally prove his worth as a team-leader. Also, the story hints a major oncoming conspiracy from the depth of Negative Zone by two of the menacing figures; Annihilus and Queen of the Brood which might eventually turn out to be some major catastrophic event in future as the series progresses.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Cosmic Avengers | Comics

Before Peter Quill became the legendary outlaw of the galaxy known as Star-Lord, he was a little boy from Earth raised by his single mother Meredith Quill. Thirty years ago, before the boy was born, a runaway spaceship crashed onto the front door of Meredith, who then dragged out and rescued the passenger. Little did she know about him that the man is an alien named J'son, who is from the planet Spartax. While staying there for fixing his ship, they both fall in love and she gave birth to Peter once J'son was gone.

Meredith raised the boy on her own but not having a father around made the child grow up to be angry all the time and picking up fights with school bullies. One evening, two Badoon soldiers showed up on their doorstep and killed her but before they could end the "Spartoi bloodline" by killing the boy, Peter shot them both with a shotgun. Before leaving, he finds the Element Gun J'son gave to Meredith as a parting gift and then the Badoon ship blew up the house. Becasue, he couldn't stop the Badoon or Spartax from fighting each other, he wants to make sure that they could never lay their hands on Earth.

With Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon and Groot already in the team, the Guardians have a brand-new member in their fold; the Invincible Iron Man of The Avengers. Tony was only interested in knowing Quill's standpoint on the Badoons invading Earth and after hearing his story, he is all in. Peter Quill was then hanging out on a galactic bar and trying to hit on a Kree girl when his father, J'son of Spartax came in guarded by Spartoi Royal Guards to meet him so that he could tell him in person to stay out of Earth.

It appears that J'son is a member of Galactic Council; an inter-galactic secret counsel comprised of him along with Annihilus, Majestor Kallark/Gladiator of Shi'ar Empire, Queen of the Brood and Supreme Intelligence of Kree. Together the Council has came to the decision to leave Earth be so that it gets a chance to be a part of galactic civilization. As their meeting was getting to a heated argument, Gamora came crushing down the royal guards to rescue Quill, thinking he is in trouble. In space, Iron Man encounters a Badoon warship and prepares to face it but the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive.

They successfully dealt with them but then the remaining Badoon warship enters Earth's atmosphere and starts wrecking havoc in London. Though they couldn't call Fantastic Four, The Avengers, The Defenders, Power Pack or X-Men, Quill and his gang took out the Badoon armada by themselves. The whole gang is then arrested by Spartax soldiers for violating "Spartax Earth Directive" by setting foot on Earth. Before they know a thing, the Guardians are captured and sent to the prison planet after stripping them all off their weapons.

Starting off the third monthly ongoing series with writer Brian Michael Bendis (Avengers Disassembled, Civil War II) and artist Steve McNiven (Civil War, Death of Wolverine), "Cosmic Avengers" is a story-arc of Guardians of the Galaxy that creates a new path for the favorite cosmic outlaws of Marvel and leads them to a new path. The story came out in 2014 and comprises of issues #01-03 from Guardians of the Galaxy third monthly series including issue #0.1 and Guardians of the Galaxy: Tomorrow 's Avengers one-shot. We can see how Marvel is trying to re-introduce the cosmic outlaws to readers when the live-action Guardians of the Galaxy movie is awaiting release in a few months.

The story gives a never-before seen peak at Star-Lord's not so well-known origin, will also lead to the introduction of a major character in the near future and a lots of adventures that is full of conflict. Plus, Tony Stark hanging out with a group of misfit heroes on space who are not his regular buddies from Avengers was sort of an amusement. Seems like Iron Man fits just fine with the team as any other member they have ever taken in. Since the heroes already have a rocky-start with Badoons, the stakes are going to be high from this point and many new developments will take place on the upcoming arc "Angela".
