Doctor Strange passes each of his days weirder than the last and after returning to the world of living after Battleworld, currently he is busy fighting a tribe of Soul-Eaters from Netherworld who were desperately trying to fight back at him. He insists them to leave at once but they made him fight their champion whom he successfully beats with his mighty war magic, makes out with a female Soul-Eater who is into him and then it is revealed that he was actually exorcising a young boy’s soul on request of his concerned parents.
Walking back to his place he looks to the surrounding world wondering what if the people around him could ever see the world as he can. Mostly he pays no mind to all the inter-dimensional bacteria roaming around common people, unless he sees something that doesn’t belong in this plane of existence. After taking out one of such on road while the onlookers on the street point him out as a weirdo, he enters the Bar With No Doors to have a drink and meet his peers Doctor Voodoo, Scarlet Witch and Shaman.
Strange shares his most recent and unusual experience with the Soul-Eaters tribe with fellow magic-wielders. Doctor Voodoo thinks a single tribe of them going rogue can be a disconnected incident but Shaman believes it to be an alarm of an upcoming storm. As he heads back home to his Sanctum Sanctorum, Strange finds a girl named Zelma Stanton, a librarian from Bronx looking for him and he invites her inside deducing that she came here with her own weird problem to get rid of.
Since Zelma was initially hesitant to come here to talk about her problems, Doctor Strange invites her inside the Sanctorum and requests her to remove her hat. He takes a look at the growing teeth and eyes on her scalp to understand what he is dealing with here. Strange hits them with a spell and suddenly his entire house gets swarmed by Mind Maggots within moments. His personal assistant Wong locks down the house as Strange wanders around his mystical house with Zelma at his side looking for them.
Strange then absorbs them all into himself by tracking their ectoplasmic mucous strands still linked to Zelma and then luring them all to her back by making shout about her deepest dark secrets. The following day, Stephen finds out magic-consuming slugs are eating over the city and then he sends them all to coma with a magical blast. Doctor Strange and Wong enter the nexus point of dimensions called Fandazar Foo to investigate further only to discover it barren and to their horror; they found the Sorcerers Supreme of many dimensions, murdered by a group called The Impirikul, led by The Imperator.

Doctor Strange – The Way of the Weird (Softcover)
Doctor Strange – The Way of the Weird (Hardcover)
As the new and fourth publication of Doctor Strange’s ongoing series kicks-in following his vital involvement in ‘Secret Wars’ as Doctor Doom’s sheriff, comic-book writer Jason Aaron (Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine, Original Sin) and artist Chris Bachalo (Generation X, Steampunk) takes responsibility of the Sorcerer Supreme legacy for a while. Issues #1-5 from the series was picked up to narrate a story that will lead to "Last Days of Magic", the next storyline from the series that will shake the mystical realms of Marvel Universe deep to its teeth and leave long-lasting mark for upcoming events to follow.
Basically "The Way of the Weird" storyline doesn’t end here; it actually finishes with a cliffhanger to any final outcome and serves as a starting point of an end. That means, the ending point of this arc is a sort of prologue for what is about to come for the heroes wielding mystical powers and fighting supernatural threat. Not any known enemy that they have ever faced before is coming after them. Instead, someone with a deeply seeded vendetta against the magicians will fight them with the strength of science.
