The Avengers quickly arrives to the gathering of Illuminati following Iron Man's trail and all rushes to Hood’s current whereabouts. The heroes manage to secure the Time Gem and as Hood shows up with the Space Gem, Namor, Thor and Red Hulk bursts onto him in a fight that ends with Red Hulk taking the Power Gem to his disposal from Hood. As the Hood is becoming a cosmic level threat, the combined force of The Avengers and The Illuminati attacks him with full force but are all easily defeated. The Hood's becoming nearly unstoppable is not the only problem the heroes have to worry about. There is also someone who is a greater threat than him and has keen interest on the Infinity Gems and he is none other than The Mad Titan and the worshiper of death; Thanos.

After the successful take on the Avengers of a new era in Avengers – Next Avengers, writer Brian Michael Bendis (Age of Ultron, Avengers Disassembled) and artist John Romita Jr. (Avengers Vs. X-Men, World War Hulk) duo came back with an exciting tale in the second storyline of Avengers fourth mothly ongoing volume titled ‘Infinity Quest’, published by Marvel Comics in 2011. The story also features the appearance of character like Ant-Man, Beast, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Mockingbird, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, The Thing, Valkyrie, War Machine and Wonder Man from the team of New Avengers and Secret Avengers. Bendis delivers a fine plot that finds light with Romita's excellent artworks in a cosmic story arc featuring the Infinity Gems.
