This incident left Cabal disbanded and Osborn devising a sinister plan with Loki, similar to the infamous "Stamford Incident" that resulted in the super-hero Civil War to get approval from the President of United States for an all-out assault on Asgard.

Meanwhile, Osborn’s Green Goblin persona tries to resurface as well as The Sentry acts unstable, letting The Void come out every once in a while. To keep Sentry in his fold, Osborn assigns Bullseye with a specific task. To seek adventures on Earth, Volstagg of Warriors Three fell into the tricks staged by Osborn and Loki, where his fight with U-Foes destroyed Soldier Field and everyone in the stadium is killed by the blast Volstagg deflected from them.

Declaring Asgard as a threat to national security after the accident, Osborn as Iron Patriot, along with his Dark Avengers and an invading military troop heads to Asgard to lay siege. Captain America assembled The Avengers, heading to the scene to stop Osborn and his goons in Dark Avengers.
