A role that was formerly held by his father King T'Chaka of the African nation of Wakanda, T'Challa is the current bearer of the title Black Panther. When King T'Chaka was attending the Bilderberg Conference, he was assassinated afterwards by an international hired mercenary named Ulysses Klaw. T'Challa goes for the Wakandan rite of passage in his teens and met a girl named Ororo Munroe.
He returned to Wakanda after completing his studies from abroad to fulfill his duties as a prince. Upon besting the then current Black Panther, T'Challa becomes the new leader of the Panther Clan with blessings from the Panther God. In his early years as the King of Wakanda, he befriended the Fantastic Four and also fought the race of Inhumans on Panther Island.
Black Panther fought Baron Zemo alongside Captain America, who invites him to join The Avengers. As he stayed with them, he fought many of its enemies and even witnessed the ‘Birth of Ultron’. T'Challa returns to Wakanda to defend the kingdom from Man-Ape. The Latverian tyrant Doctor Doom would have a brief skirmish with him over the Vibranium of Wakanda.
His childhood sweetheart Ororo was now a member of the X-Men and this two married before embarking a diplomatic world tour during the superhero Civil War. After He and Storm joined Fantastic Four to replace Reed and Susan Richards for a while, they faced Galactus and his herald Silver Surfer before World War Hulk. T'Challa successfully defends Wakanda from Skrull Invasion and joins The Illuminati.
